GIS outputs are rarely mass production, frequently only one copy is demanded. Nevertheless sometimes only a printed map or a copied plan remains as the single alternative. Nowadays, an important rule is played by qualitatively pleasing coloured "hard-copy" or plots, which come directly from screenshots. But such maps suffer from the low resolution which corresponds to that of the screen. Better resolutions can be reached with real plots, whose quality is only limited by the resolutions of the plotter.
